Inbetween Birthdays

The best thing about being two days older than Chris is that our birthday celebrations generally stretch over all three days--my birthday, his birthday, and the day in-between. This year was even better when you added the ward party the day before. Sweet.

Our "family" party ended up being on Sunday night. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of making two cakes and Chris wasn't thrilled with the idea of two-day-old cake for his birthday, so we partied together.

Well, first let's celebrate the deliciousness that is birthday food. French dip sandwiches for lunch, spaghetti for dinner. It isn't a birthday without spaghetti. Round it off with green cupcakes and you're good to go.

We made the cake because I got tired of making cupcakes. Plus, it was way easier for frosting and candles.

Presents rocked this year. Chris gave me a new set of pens--which rolls up for me to carry around. Fabulous. And a Utah State University Alumni license plate frame for the van. I am thoroughly looking forward to driving around with this frame and New Mexico plates in some other state entirely during grad school. It'll be awesome.

Chris made bank, too. Four new Rubik's cubes--2x2, 3x7, tetrahedron and dodecahedron.

We had a delightful little party, and the cake was lovely, too.

J: When I do not listen.

J: Tickle me and playing tag with me

J: She was a kid with glasses.
M: Nice child.

J: two eight.
M: I don't know.

M: Six.

J: 50 and a half.
M: This big.

J: Ride bikes with me.
M: Play with kids.

9. What does Mom do when you're not around?
J: She does her own stuff.
M: Play hide and seek.

10. If Mom becomes famous, what will it be for?
J: I don't know, she would know more stuff. Like me but I'm only five and I know a lot.
M: Being nice.

11. What is Mom really good at?
J: Making macaroni and cheese and noodle soup, and at finding me in hide and seek.
M: Counting.

12. What is Mom not very good at?
J: Doing things that I tell her to do and guessing things that I ask her to guess.
M: Climbing up on Jane's bed.

13. What does Mom do for her job?
J: Help us earn a new house.
M: Play hide and seek.

J: Spaghetti.

J: Sometimes she guesses the right thing that I ask her to guess.

J: When I clean my room and make my bed and do all the stuff I'm supposed to do.

J: We go out during dates.

J: We usually both have a dress, sometimes we wear matching dresses.

J: Mom has glasses and I don't have glasses.
M: Mom doesn't play with the kitchen things.

J: Because I was the first one born.
M: From getting her hugs.

J: Chinese restaurant.
M: Wal-Mart.
