I went to two high schools--Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, WA and Olympus High School in Salt Lake City, UT. I technically graduated from Olympus, but since I only went there for one year, I still feel more attached to Pilchuck. (P.S. That's a Native American name. Beware your mockery.) I didn't go either of the ten-year class reunions for good old class of 2003 for Pilchuck or Olympus. Instead, I drove to Arizona. Because, you know, that's the same as Washington or Utah...
Anyway. I digress.
Since I left Washington in 2002, Britta and I have managed to get together once roughly every two years. Most recently was when she came to visit me in Salt Lake in January of 2011. After all the times she's come to visit me, it seemed only fair that now we're leaving within 500 miles again that I finally go to visit her. Chris stayed behind to work and I drove with the kids all the way to Tucson.

A trip for the memory books for sure. I give myself points for driving the seven and a half hours to Tucson and back with all the kids and without another adult. I also get points for actually going to visit Britta instead of her coming to visit me.
Way more points, though, to both of us for managing to remain friends for sixteen years--including both of us getting married, seven kids total, and more moves to more states than I even want to try to count. Seriously--our friendship is quite a feat. A very worthwhile, noteworthy, important to me feat.

I was wondering why you went to Arizona... makes so much more sense now. :) I'm really impressed you made that journey with 3 kids and no other adult! Very brave!
That looks like a wonderful trip! How exciting. How's Britta's last baby doing?? I remember that we talked last summer about her baby having problems.
