Es-cop-ay

Taking advantage again of our amazing babysitting setup, Chris and I were able to go out for a lovely anniversary celebratory adventure. Since our date night happened to coincide with Brandon's birthday, we invited him and Heather to join us at The Escape Room.

If you haven't heard of that, it's where you are locked in a room as a group and have to solve a series of puzzles in order to get out in less than 60 minutes. Here is the scenario we were given:

Bob Ford, the man charged with the murder of Jesse James, has found Jesse James' map to some hidden treasure. Before Ford could find the treasure, he was murdered and the map was never seen again. Rumor has it that the map is hidden somewhere inside Ford's home office; however, the building is set to be demolished. You must find the treasure map before the building is destroyed. There is only a small window of time (1 hour) to see it through. Unfortunately, you don’t know the whole plan, but luckily there were clues left for you to find. You will just have to figure it out. Do you have what it takes to find the map before time runs out?

The four of us were joined by two others, who also happened to be celebrating a birthday. Awesome. I am happy to report that Yes! We did make it out in less that 60 minutes. In fact, we had 8 minutes and 41 seconds to spare.

It was really fun. Some of the puzzles we figured out right away, some took a few hints before we finally got it. It was nice, too, that everyone was able to contribute. My favorite was when we were supposed to find four clues to solve a puzzle but we only had three, and I figured out the answer anyway. It was great.

Good times! I want to go back and try the other room sometime.
