Christmas is still a bit rough being 2,000 miles away from our families. I had the grand consolation all month knowing that Amy was coming. And the next best thing--we have awesome friends in our ward who were also far from family and we all had a party. Because that's what we do in Georgia.
We were at the Clarks' house, which is where Megan goes for preschool once a week. There were five families there--the Broughs, Carrons, Clarks, Crolleys, and Wamplers. (I admit, the alphabetical disparity in our names did catch my attention--we were at the wrong end. Ha.)
It was a really fun night. Dinner was AMAZING, and we had a fun time. The adults had a white elephant gift exchange.
Chris came home with a set of Larry H. Miller drink glasses--nice Utah touch--and I got a 50 piece Superman puzzle. That was actually what I brought and though I could have traded, I totally kept it because I think it's cool.
The kids played Pin the Carrot on the Snowman. Cute!
Megan won! She loves the "sunglasses" she got as her prize.
It was a great night. Thanks to you all!

I'm glad you were still able to have a good time. I'm sure it was very different from what you are used to, but sounds like it was an ok alternative. :)
This post makes me miss the fun get togethers we had with you guys in Logan and in SLC. Your ward is lucky to have you guys!
I know you are missing your family, but there is something so special about making your ward family part of your family too. You guys do it just right.
